The stability of the hook plays an important role in safe production. The user shall regularly conduct daily safety inspections and maintenance on the hook to ensure safe production. Generally speaking, the daily inspection and maintenance of hooks include the following:
Maintenance
- Clean the crane hook assembly body with a noncorrosive organic solvent. Wipe it dry and check it with a magnifying glass. If cracks are found, replace them immediately. Repair welding is not allowed. Check the hook opening and wear of dangerous section.
- Check whether the pulley groove and rim are evenly worn, whether the wire rope matches the pulley groove, and whether the pulley is loose or shaking.
- Make sure that the rotating part of the hook rotates freely and that the clearance cannot be too large. Check whether the main hook is damaged due to overload. Whether the hook guard plate, beam, and other parts meet the requirements. Check the anti unhooking device.
Inspection
- Nondestructive testing shall be carried out on the parts with concentrated stress on the surface of the workpiece. If cracks are found, stop using it immediately and replace the hook with a new one.
- Regularly check the wear or corrosion of the dangerous section of the hook. When the actual size is less than 95% of the original basic size, replace the hook with a new one.
- When the twist angle of the hook body exceeds 10 °, replace it with a new hook. When the opening deformation of the hook reaches 10% of the original basic size, the hook shall be replaced.
- Repair welding is not allowed for the defects on the hooks. The hook handle of a dangerous section or hook shall not have plastic deformation.
